Subject: - London conference and „ other IIww-era victims ”  Fund

Sir,

As You know, the Soviet Union, as the nazi ally until 1941, led a large scale extermination of Polish citizens .

Besides the genocide of Polish army members started on the 17.o9.1939, huge mass deportations to forced work camps became the destiny of millions of them.
As such , they should be considered as double victims of nazi and communist persecutions. Besides, no claim for reparations was possible due to the afterwar Yalta division .

The Fund set up at the 1997 London conference „aims to compensate Holocaust survivors and other World War II-era victims”.
Poland decided to donate what we are owed since 1946 by The Tripartite Commission redistributing looted gold to countries whose treasuries were raided by invading Nazis.( Soviets not to be forgotten neither)

In the light of the above facts, it seems clear that the Polish survivors of the Soviet deportations should be taken into consideration by the Fund as the needest „double victims”.

Please, let us know the procedure to adopt and whom should they address in order to present their claims.

Yours faithfully,
